What do you need to know about North Korea’s Hydrogen Bomb ?

With the recent test of a new missile, the rogue state North Korea had had proved its capability of delivering a hydrogen bomb onto a Inter-continental Ballistic missile (ICBM). North Korea had claimed this last year itself but that was regarded as false claims by other countries of the world.

Hydrogen Bombs are relatively stronger than traditional atomic weapons in terms of unleashing destruction. As against the atomic bomb dropped by U.S on Hiroshima and Nagasaki during world war 2, the hydrogen bomb can be 1,000 times more powerful.

Hydrogen bomb is also referred to as Thermonuclear bomb. It uses fusion technique similar to that of stars to produce explosive energy. While the process involved in Atomic bombs in atomic-splitting or fission. The magnitude of destruction which it can bring upon is so immense. According to Andrei Lankov, a professor of Korean studies at Kookmin university in Seoul ‘ Such a device could evaporate the entire city of New York completel-no one would stay alive“. It could sweep some hundreds of cities all along causing a heavy death toll and destruction once launched on an enemy country.

Only the top 5 Nuclear weapons masters of the world- US, UK, France, Russia and China had till now attained the power of developing a Hydrogen Bomb. However with this latest development North Korea too joined the big league. Many strategists are calling this success not just as a game changer but game over.
