‘Super 30’ is an educational program in Patna started by Anand Kumar and his team in 2002. Anand Kumar himself is a mathematician. The program selects 30 talented candidates each year from economically backward sections of the society. The are trained for JEE-Advanced, the entrance exam for IIT. They provide free coaching along with food and lodging. These 30 students are selected through a competitive exam. In the first year, 18 out of 30 cleared IIT-JEE. It was 22 in the second year and 26 in the third year. In the fourth and fifth year, it was 28. And for three years consecutively it was all 30 out of 30.
This is the fourth year after 2008, 2009 and 2010 that all the 30 candidates have cleared IIT-JEE. In its 15 year journey. Super 30 has sent 396 out of 450 candidates to IIT.
Isn’t it something great. Let us hope that its journey continues.
