Paris Saint Germain have completed the signing of Dani Alves after he was allowed to leave Juventus with a year left on his deal. He has agreed to a two-year contract with PSG. The defender was linked with Manchester City for a reunion with ex-Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola for the major part of the transfer window but has instead opted to move to PSG. PSG will attempt to win back the Ligue 1 title from last season’s champions Monaco. Dani Alves is their second signing this summer after left-back Yuri Berchiche’s arrival from Real Sociedad.
Guardiola had let right-backs Bacary Sagna and Pablo Zabaleta leave the club at the end of their contracts and Alves appeared set to join Manchester City, he instead shocked them by moving to PSG.
Prior to Juventus, Alves had spent eight seasons with Barcelona, winning La Liga six times and the Champions League three times.
